I'll tell you two things about Aurora. She was born weak. Diagnosed with a fragile heart and a blood disease that makes her pale, easy to bruise — for that she bred into prey by the people who were supposed to protect her.

                When she dreams she is someone, something. An artist with endless possibilities, a princess of a forgotten world.

⠀ ⠀kat / aurora is at times an unreliable narrator and a lot of these characters are just straight up liars — reality is very purposefuly being twisted and manipulated — it's one of the major themes throughout the story so fair warning.

⠀—⠀not technically a warning(?) but i will say there are a lot of sex scenes. sex and intimacy is very important to kat and the narrative, i completely understand skipping them but honestly they're the best part 💔 normalize sexualising men with glasses named ash

✶ ⠀ ⠀the featured blurb was heavily inspired by what do we have here? by anne carson featured in plainwater.

✶ ⠀ ⠀i took a lot of liberties regarding medical information, how schools / colleges work and with the government in general — this is because i'm stupid. stay in school.

✶ ⠀ ⠀ all canon characters have been written with the upmost care and love, very little changes were made — that being said any differences between dc canon, your canon and the one written are purposeful — i take my job very seriously.

✶⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ forget the old kat you know and consider this kat's re - introductory, cause it is — essentially — like when characters get revamped every ten years or so, i've had kat for a few years now (2022, maybe late 2021) and she's definitely one of my favorite creations, she's come so far and i'm almost completely happy with her — which be furthered studied on my insta if you follow it (self plug ha).
⠀ ⠀this is her main canon basically, gotham!kat acts more like a simplified adaptation in the way most comic - book show / movie adaptations are.

very important author's note. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀biggest warning (note ?) before you go forward there is a repeating them of grooming and sexual abuse and kat is still very much *stuck* in the cycle.  she's a victim who defends her abusers because she genuinely believes (as many victims do) that it's love and it's something she'll *slowly* be working through.  i'm largely using myself as reference but if that makes you uncomfortable or you're not in the right mindset to read i completely understand.
